After five years of career triumphs at Hal Riney & Partners, San Francisco, thirty-year-old creative director Will Stallworth returns to his hometown, Atlanta, in March, 1984, to lead McDonald & Campbell’s pitch for a $100 million account.

Armed with talent, arrogance, and accolades, he soon wins the affection of a hauntingly beautiful woman. Suddenly, inexplicably, he begins to unravel. He is ambushed by panic attacks–his confidence vanishes. Co-workers, smelling blood, sabotage him.

Desperate, he grasps at anything to stop his downward spiral. He finds deliverance in the least likely place. . .
